According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) rules, if you have a margin account and make four or more day trades within a rolling five business day period, you will be considered a pattern day trader. Pattern day traders are required to maintain a minimum account balance of $25,000. If your account balance falls below this threshold, you will not be able to make any day trades until the balance is restored.

Pattern day traders are required to maintain a minimum account balance of $25,000. If you fall under this category, make sure you have enough funds in your account to meet the requirements.
