- Nov 26, 2021 · 3 years agoIn terms of mining efficiency for zcash and other cryptocurrencies, sol/s and h/s play different roles. Sol/s, or solutions per second, measures the number of valid solutions found by a mining device in a second. This metric is particularly relevant for zcash mining as it uses the Equihash algorithm. On the other hand, h/s, or hashes per second, measures the number of hash computations performed by a mining device in a second. While h/s can give an indication of the overall computational power of a mining device, sol/s provides a more direct measure of the mining efficiency for zcash. It's important to note that mining profitability depends on various factors, including the mining difficulty, electricity cost, and hardware efficiency. Therefore, a higher sol/s does not guarantee higher profitability if these other factors are not favorable.
